When is it better to us API vs. EDL or vice versa?

The API is great for looking up addresses and contractors, product integrations, and local lead lists. If you're trying to get every contractor across multiple counties, and you want all the fields we offer, that's our EDL. We can push this directly into BigQuery, Snowflake, or deliver as parquet files.
